Ushers and Greeters

Ushers

At St. John’s, our ushers are the eyes and ears of the congregation before, during and after each Mass. We provide general care of our place of worship and we strive to create an environment where all feel welcome. We provide assistance to fellow parishioners and visitors by greeting all with a warm welcome, and by answering any questions one may have. We also assist parishioners and visitors who may have special circumstances or needs. Some additional responsibilities include taking up the collection of gifts of our faith community, assisting people to their seats, directing the flow to the reception of Holy Communion, passing out the weekly bulletins at the conclusion of Mass, and providing help to anyone who becomes ill in church and needs special attention.

The ushers accommodate the happiness, well-being, and comfort of all in attendance. Above all we strive to make your worship time with us at St. John the Evangelist Church a rewarding, blessed event. We welcome anyone who would like to join this ministry group of special men and women of St. John the Evangelist Church.

Greeters

Greeters make St. John the Evangelist Parish a warm, welcoming and inviting place of worship. Everyone is welcome at our Parish to worship and celebrate the Life, Death, and Resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. St. John’s Greeters are stationed in the vestibule to welcome everyone as they enter our church. This inviting spirit of Christian Hospitality is then carried forward into the church at the beginning of mass.

We are always looking for men and women to joyfully meet and greet people entering our church. So, if you are willing to smile, welcome others, answer questions, share faith, and keep an eye open for new comers, please consider becoming a greeter at St. John the Evangelist. We welcome anyone who would like to join this group of special men and women.
